Course Description
This course centers on the different phases of the research process: research problem formulation, literature review, research ethics, research design and methodology (including sampling and instrument construction), data analysis design, and data-collection methodologies. It develops skill in planning the activities needed to implement the methodology, transposing knowledge of research into practical skill through a series of short papers and chapters. The course culminates in a final activity where learners appear before a panel of three or four experts to defend their research proposal.
Lecture material is accentuated with real-world examples from the literature and the course instructor's ongoing research, with emphasis on using evidence to support clinical decision-making.
