An overview of libraries and librarianship; historical development of libraries; types of libraries; library profession including Code of Ethics for Filipino librarians; as well as the laws and issuances related to Philippines librarianship. The course also provides the theoretical and philosophical underpinnings of the profession, with emphasis on its practice in the Philippines.
